Drink a glass of water before you eat
Water is a natural appetite suppressant, drinking a glass before meals can make you feel fuller quicker. We also confuse thirst with hunger, so for this reason alone whenever you feel hungry drink a glass of water first, and then see if you still feel hungry.
Drink it ice cold
According to some reports drinking water ice cold can boost your metabolism. Your body has to work harder to warm up the water, burning more calories and helping you lose weight. Worth a go as ice cold water is much nicer than room temperature water anyway!
Keep hydrated when exercising
Drinking water prevents muscle cramping and keeps your joints lubricated, meaning that you can work out for longer and harder.
Drink enough water
To maintain your weight or do lose weight it is recommended that you drink 8 glasses of water a day. That’s about 2 litres of water a day. Easy to do if you drink our Super Water recipe! Don’t forget that water based drinks such as herbal tea count towards your 8 glasses.
Coffee and tea count too
The theory that coffee and tea do not count towards your daily water intake as they were dehydrating has been debunked. The diuretic effect does not offset hydration. So enjoy your coffee and tea safe in the knowledge that they are counting towards your total daily water intake.
